Sylvaine Hélary – flutes and voice
Tam de Villiers – Folk and Nylon Guitar
Karsten Hochapfel– Cello and Portuguese guitar
On a whim, three friends gather one early morning in a small apartment in the 20th arrondissement of Paris – one English, one German and one French. An acoustic guitar, cello and flute start impetuously exploring playful rhythms, crafty harmonies and lively melodies that forge together despite coming from completely different different musical horizons. Thus was born the trio “jazz-de-chambre” Morgen Naughties where neither classical nor jazz is sacred.
In 2010, the acoustic trio jazz-de-chambre « Morgen Naughties » with Sylvaine Hélary on flutes, Karsten Hochapfel on cello / Portuguese guitar and Tam de Villiers on folk and nylon guitar. A project in a completely acoustic setting that explores improvised music, classic, baroque, contemporary, jazz and ethnic with contrapuntal compositions written by de Villiers and Hochapfel. A debut album was recorded by Antonin Rayon in 2012 and will be released at the end of the year. The compositions included on the album were played earlier this year in May at the Atelier du Plateau in Paris.
